[07:23]<+Mulreay> hey jacky, tux2 and Craig
[08:15]<@jacky> Mulreay: Hello ( was away a while... )
[08:19]<+Mulreay> It's Ok bud, just thought you don't like me anymore... no biggy
[08:20]<+Mulreay> heh
[08:20]<+Mulreay> Obviously I assume you liked me in the first place
[08:35]<@jacky> if I don't reply for 15 minutes, what's that telling you?
[08:35]<@jacky> <eg>
[08:35]<@jacky> heheheheeh
[08:36]<@jacky> ... seriously... am chatting elsewhere... sorry that I didn't notice you here for so long

[09:44]<+Mulreay> Heh, you ok jacky? Been distracted by the news
[09:44]<@jacky> ok as I ever am
[09:44]<@jacky> am chatting in #bots a bit
[09:45]<+Mulreay> no worries
[10:04]<Tux2> Morning Mulreay
[10:05]<+Mulreay> Well it's 17:00 here but good morning Tux2 :p
[10:05]<Tux2> lol, forgot you weren't in the states.
[10:05]<+Mulreay> Yeah, sorry I'm a brit
[10:07]<Tux2> ;) No problem.
[10:09]<Tux2> Oh, here's something interesting: on the Humble Bundle Windows users donate the least, followed by Mac users, while linux users on average give over two and a half times more than people using Windows.
[10:09]<Tux2> http://www.humblebundle.com/
[10:10]<+Mulreay> yeah, they never paid for windows
[10:15]<Tux2> lol, yeah. I think it's a mindset though too. People who use Windows usually pay for their software so when they find a deal like that they want to pay less. Linux users on the other hand almost never "pay" for the right to use software yet are more willing to support a project like that. (Just my opinion)
[10:32] * Mulreay (mulreay@mib-10E4E6F.cable.virginmedia.com) Quit (Quit: Smoke me a Kipper, I'll be back for breakfast!)
[10:39]<Tux2> howdy jacky
[10:39]<@jacky> Tux2: Howdy.... :)
[10:40]<Tux2> I'm upgrading fedora from version 14 to 15... (hopefully I can customize gnome 3 to be the way I want it...)
[10:43]<@jacky> cool
[10:44]<Tux2> Yeah, I'm doing it knowing full well that I just might bork my customization of my desktop...
[10:45]<Tux2> (Meaning that I have to re-do everything I did to get certain codecs to work again...)
[10:45]<@jacky> ah... the life of a linux-er
[10:45]<@jacky> eh?
[10:46]<@jacky> hehehehe
[10:46]<Tux2> lol, yeah. It took me over 2 weeks to find all the repositories I needed to add to get it running good.
[10:46]<Tux2> (Ubuntu spoiled me royal)
[10:47]<@jacky> what's up with fedora?
[10:47]<@jacky> just trying something different?
[10:54] * Mulreay (mulreay@mib-10E4E6F.cable.virginmedia.com) has joined #glitchpc
[10:55] * ChanbotV sets mode: +v Mulreay
[10:57]<Tux2> Ubuntu went with unity, which is a poor phone-like interface... yuck! So I switched to fedora.
[10:57]<Tux2> sorry jacky, I had a phonecall come in.
[10:57]<@jacky> and I'm chatting elsehwere
[10:57]<@jacky> np
[10:57]<@jacky> :)
[11:00]<Tux2> Oh, I made my second ever purchase of linux software last night...
[11:01]<@jacky> I thought it was all free... actually required to be free
[11:01]<@jacky> wait
[11:01]<@jacky> that's for the source code
[11:01]<@jacky> you just didn't want to compile it yourself
[11:01]<@jacky> is that it?
[11:01]<Tux2> lol, these are commercial games with native linux support. ;)
[11:01]<@jacky> ok
[11:01]<Tux2> http://www.humblebundle.com/
[11:02]<@jacky> can't right now
[11:02]<@jacky> sorry
[11:02]<Tux2> lol, that's fine. That's just what I got.
[11:03]<@jacky> cool
[11:04]<@jacky> I hope it all works excellent-ly (is that a word??) for you
[11:04]<Tux2> lol, yup. :) I've been having fun with the games.
[11:05]<@jacky> require a lot of horsepower?
[11:07]<Tux2> Um, well, at least two of the games runs in adobe flash, so not too much. I was running all the games on high res on my laptop with no hiccups.
[11:07]<@jacky> cool
[11:09]<Tux2> Yeah. I kind of expected for the games to glitch out or something because of missing dependencies or something, (third party packages have a habit of that) but installs went smoothly.
[11:09]<@jacky> cool
[11:10]<Tux2> Yeah. I kind of went overboard and downloaded the windows/mac/ all Linux versions available so I can burn them to DVD for future reference.
[11:11]<@jacky> :)
[11:11]<Tux2> Total size: 6.1GB!
[11:12]<Tux2> (have to get out the dual-layer dvd discs I have laying around)
[11:12]<@jacky> that reminds me
[11:12]<@jacky> I need to fiddle with it some more to be sure
[11:12]<@jacky> but my burner might be kaput
[11:12]<@jacky> only like a year and half old too!
[11:13]<Tux2> That's about right...
[11:13]<@jacky> if I need to get a new one... is it worth it to get a dual layer?
[11:13]<@jacky> what's about right?
[11:13]<Tux2> My burners usually go out in 1-2 years...
[11:13]<@jacky> maybe you burn a LOT
[11:13]<Tux2> lol! I do!
[11:13]<@jacky> I don't
[11:13]<@jacky> what's the cost diff, in dual layer burner?
[11:13]<@jacky> and what's the cost diff in the media?
[11:14]<Tux2> FYI: all DVD burners out there are dual-layer now
[11:14]<@jacky> oh?
[11:14]<@jacky> ok.....
[11:14]<Tux2> (at least the good ones...)
[11:14]<@jacky> care to recommend one/some?
[11:14]<@jacky> and.. about the media... is it costly?
[11:18]<Tux2> Dual layer discs are about twice as expensive as regular DVDs (so same cost as far as data storage goes, since they store twice as much)
[11:19]<Tux2> I keep stacks of CDs, DVDs, and dual layer DVDs on hand and use the one that fits the job.

[15:01]<+Mulreay> 1527 thieving rioting looters shot dead by police, many in the back of the head, over 1000 in hospital with cracked skulls due to excessive baton use by police. Hundreds of people tore apart by police dogs. The army are moving in to finish the job in affected areas using bayonets so as to save tax payers money on bullets. Carlsberg don't do headlines...but if they did.....

My neighbours son 'one of the hardest men in Wythenshawe, John' has already slapped somebody for suggesting they try and ran-sack our local shops. Was just in the back garden talking to him... he's not happy.. p.s he doesn't live with his
